We work in partnership with other organisations and regulators to improve outcomes for children and young people. These organisations include:
- Ofsted (external link) on the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA) and annual review of children's services; and
- local authorities on the improvement and self assessment of children's services.
We are responsible for:
- running the school survey, a national web-based survey of schools' views of their local authority and the local services provided for children and young people; and
- maintaining resource-packs and tools for local authorities and for schools including the education of looked after children toolkit and the resource pack for schools on value for money in special educational needs/additional educational needs.
- national reports on key areas like special educational needs, children’s trusts and school funding;
