The impact of the recession on local authorities
We have teamed up with the Institute of Local Government Studies for a one day seminar, to be held on 14 July, exploring the impact of the recession on local authorities.
With speakers from local authorities, academia and the Audit Commission, the day promises to involve in-depth and thought-provoking discussion sparked by case studies.
How will it benefit me?
Being informed about the recession and its impact is more important than ever. Local authorities and partner organisations need to plan effectively now for the impending cuts in public finances.
The best-prepared councils are already taking action to preserve services in the years ahead, but others have yet to make any financial plans beyond 2011.
This seminar will prepare you to make the decisions needed to help your authority to achieve more for less.
How to book
The seminar will be on Wednesday 14 July, at the University of Birmingham. It costs £295 for the day (VAT exempt) which includes all papers and refreshments.
To book your place, please print out and complete the booking form (PDF, 64Kb, opens in a new window) and send it along with a cheque made payable to University of Birmingham to:
