Annual review of diversity and equality

We carried out our second annual review of progress against our 2006-09 Diversity scheme. The review covered the 12 month period ending 31 March 2009.

The annual review reports on our progress on the nine priority objectives that were agreed by our Diversity Strategy Board following our first Annual Review of the 2006-09 Diversity scheme. The 2008/09 review sets out where there is further work to be done to achieve the progress we would like to make and contains details of our specific achievements in the updated action plan. You can download PDF versions of the Annual Reviews for 2008/09 and 2007/08 below.

Priority objectives:

  • ensuring equality is reflected in Comprehensive Area Assessment
  • mainstreaming equality into national studies
  • more effective monitoring and feedback of our progress
  • taking action to achieve a more representative organisation
  • action to address bullying, harassment and discrimination
  • making better use of team knowledge and skills
  • improving how we involve people in our work
  • reflecting equality in our procurement and partnership practice
  • delivering clear and accessible messages

We have taken the learning from this review forward into developing our Equality and Diversity Scheme Value for all which was published in December 2009 and covers the period 2009-12.
